We meet one evening each month, usually the 2nd Thursday of the month. Typically we sample three white and three red wines, generally chosen to a theme, perhaps all from one country or region, all accompanied by modest amounts of nibbles.
A few members are quite knowledgeable about wines, to the benefit of the majority who have limited knowledge, but we all enjoy trying different wines from different sources. Above all we enjoy a sociable evening with the opportunity to appreciate wines we might not taste otherwise and to discuss the wines amongst whatever other topics arise during the evening.
Attendees contribute £15 each to cover the cost of wines and nibbles. Generally the wines are in the £10 to £20 range but sometimes our budget allows us to try somewhat more expensive wines.
Currently our group is full (there’s a limit to the number of people each bottle can be stretched to satisfy).  We would however be happy to put anyone interested on a waiting list (with the possibility, if the waiting list becomes long enough, that it might form the basis for a second group).
