Sully Old school, home of Sully u3a

The U3A is an organisation aimed at offering activities for people who are in their Third Age. The Third Age refers to the period after the First Age of childhood dependence and the Second Age of full-time employment and parental responsibility. One in four of the UK population is in the Third Age.

Anyone in the Third Age can join our U3A and this includes people who are working part time. There is no lower age limit for membership of the U3A.

Sully U3A, just like any other U3A around the UK, is a self-help, low cost organisation providing opportunities through general meetings and a variety of interest groups. No qualifications are required and none are given.

The U3A is a democratic, self-funded, self-managed organisation which exists to provide education and leisure activities for men and women who are no longer in full time employment, at minimal cost. We draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of our members to organise interest groups in accordance with the wishes of the membership. We are a friendly organisation. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 2pm in the Old School in Sully. The Old School is located on the main road through the village, next door to the church.

U3A membership offers new challenges, new opportunities and new friends. We have members from a fairly wide area around Sully, including Penarth, Dinas Powys, Wenvoe, Barry and Rhoose. Our groups offer many and varied activities - details via the link on the Events tab.

If, having looked at our website, you have any questions or suggestions, please email secretary@sullyu3a.co.uk or come to one of our general meetings at 2.00pm on the second Thursday of each month at The Old School, Sully CF64 5TG.
